This oral history compiles many interviews surrounding the events of the Governor’s Day protest at the University of Nevada in 1970. This event protested the Vietnam War, the Kent State Massacre, and Nixon’s decision to invade Cambodia. The interviews collected in this volume speak not only of Governor's Day, but also the larger politics of the war, concerns for the environment, reflections on higher education, and speculations about the future. More recent interviews can be found in a second volume published by the UNOHP, Governor's Day 1970: A Retrospective View. |
